If you had the financing to create your own Science Fiction Channel, what shows, old or new, would you schedule? What movies would you air and which ones would you trash?

There is SO much wonderful scifi out there... what would you pick to fill your 24/7?  How would you arrange it?

Okay.... I'll start

I'd like to start my early to mid morning with kids scifi including cartoons, kids shows, sit coms just to wet their whistle and get them interested in the genre. I think on a rotating basis I would like to see things like, "Land of the Lost," "The Tommorrow People," "Power Rangers," "Ultra Man," "Tobor the 8TH Man""Space Ghost" and even throw in "Alf" and "Mork and Mindy" a few times a month... Maybe even give the morning hours a cute host that would introduce the various shows.

In the late morning/early afternoon, I'd show some of the older series, some of which SciFi HAS shown "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" "Time Tunnel" "Land of the Giants." In here too, I' like to rotate in some of the SciFi westerns, "Wild Wild West," "Legend" "Brisco County Jr"  and maybe even Firefly  with new episodes....  Maybe  " WILD WEST Wednesdays"

4:00 or 5:00, I think a SciFi Soap Opera would be interesting....hhhmmm Pigs in Space? Nah... already been done... but some kind of continueing drama would be interesting for folks to watch when they get home

From then until 9:00 Some of the more recent scifi shows: the Stargates, The Many Lives of Star Trek, Farscape, B5, all of those.

From then until morning, show the movies... old and new, black and white and color.

Then because it is MY station I want "Fantasy Fridays"  All of those OTHER shows that really aren't "SciFi" but the ones I REALLY like Buffy, Angel,  and movies like LotR, Willow, Legend

One of the things I would REALLY like to do, weekends, maybe? would be an updated version of "In Search of..." I REALLY liked that show and would like to see a show that explained and researched many of the myths and legends. I also love documentaries I would like to see more on NASA, Planets, SETI, all of that "stuff" No it isn't REALLY SciFi... but it is the stuff scifi is made out of.... makes people REALLY think about "what if?"

Is that enough? I think I pretty well, covered everything.

WOW, ULTRAMAN!!! Haven't thought about him since, well since the 70s!!!! Speaking of those 'greats' I am now remembering how much I cried watching 'Johnny Socko(sp) and the Giant Robot' and the robot grabbed the giant alien and flew the two of them directly into an asteroid!!! I criedx SOOO much that my mother almost wouldn't let me watch those 'horrible grotesque, too much for children' shows! Of course, today, I would have laughed at the whole thing, but back then??? Ahhh to be young and naive again.

I used to have to sneak to watch "Dark Shadows"  It used to scare the daylights out of me.... but ALL the kids watched it and it was the COOL thing to do.

Now it is almost the silliest most campy thing around.... but it was downright FRIGHTFUL to a six/seven/eight year old  (somewhere in there... I don't remember exactly when it was on)
