So, this latest episode was just, uhhhh, weird? But I did like how they showed just what MIGHT happen if someone could read minds, ALL minds all the time - it could drive them crazy!
At the end when she had to decide what to do with the necklace, I thought Jack meant that she should give it to HIM to keep in the Torchwood safe NOT to destroy it!!!

So, aside fro how creepy this latest epi was; we, Francesca & I, would really like to know what was meant by ,'You know, I have a stop watch. I can be in your office in ten minutes.'

What did that mean? I thought, while this fixer dude was a strange, robot like fellow, he WAS straight! Of course, he could also just be bi, but what did he mean about the stop watch?

I was wondering the same thing. Perhaps this reference has more meaning for people in the U.K.

Hey, that was my primary concern with this show too Mac. It has the potential to become dark, dreary, and morbid. But so far, and I haven't seen them all, it has managed to stay away from that modern day scifi trap.

And yea, its definitely a little more racy than anything on scifi, although Battlestar Galactica has brought more of that. Every show I have ever seen out of Britian has been a little more, shall we say 'open' than we are use to in our television viewing.

Can anyone tell me why this last epi was actually about? If, perhaps, a certain person had NOT come back, he wouldn't have needed to 'save' the person eventually saved since she would NOT have been there!

Just wish this show would get back on its tracks, is all.

I didn't think this episode was bad. It was better than some of the others... at least for me.

It was about a guy looking back on his life after his death. It was the power of the alien eye he possesed (swallowed) that allowed for this. It was not about saving Gwen, because you are right, she would not have been there if none of the rest of the story had not happened.

I agree though that Torchwood is a bit hit and miss. Still, at least I have liked about half the episodes and the ones I liked were usually pretty good. And of the half that were not that good… most were so so rather than outright bad.

I really LOVED this past Torchwood! Reminded me of the Twilight Zone with the plane going back in time, trying to get back home! Although I saw it coming; I was still sad when the man committed suicide, though it was decent of Cpt. Jack to sit with him!

I guess that left Capt Jack wondering if he'd ever get back.  Of course some of those questions could be answered next week.

Combat
Interesting episode only in that it showed more character development for Owen. Is he falling off the deep end or did his fight do something more to him?

LOL Maybe I should have said falling deeper. ALL of them have issues.

I've been debating buying the first season of this show since I have never seen any of it.

Some of the people who know me suggest that I not waste the money because they have a strong suspicion that I most likely will, if not outright hate it, at least dislike it immensly.

So what do you all think?

I'm not sure. There were some interesting episodes in season one, but the mature audience content is near R rated, some stories were not that good, and the season long story arc seemed to get out of hand.

For me, the whole was worth it but some of the parts were a waste of time. I cannot say how you would like or not like the series.

The second season opener was not bad as far as the story went (I would rate it about a B+)... but enough with the guys kissing guys stuff... PLEASE. I try to be open minded about gay rights and stuff... but I really do not want to see that kind of thing. I would rather all public kissing be made illegal rather than have to see guys kissing guys. Sorry, but it looks like I do have a conservative side.

Welcome to the 'DARK' side, MAC-san. I feel you are STRONG in the POWER, just let your self go FREE! But 'seriously', I agree the content HAS been running towards pro-gay issues, and yet, I'll bet we see a LOT more 'acceptance' in this outlet BEFORE we see the same level of acceptance of a MIXED couple with a Black man and a White woman! Too many 'issues' with that I reckon. Too men (or women) can 'easily' hide what they are to each other, a mixed couple would have a much harder time simply BECAUSE their color would mark them easily. Two of the same gender sharing a hotel/motel room raises NO eyebrows; a mixed couple could not 'sneak' into such a location without the WHOLE staff (and town, depending on the size would ALL know.

Well.... I'm not even sure that is what they are "worried" about.  I'm not quite sure but I think that they know that I LIKE "Happy Endings."  All I keep hearing about this show is that it is "Dark"

Well, DARK I can handle... as long as the good guys win in the end.
