It's back.

For those of us who watch Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Battlestar Galactica, here in the US (and have access to The SciFi Channel), all new episodes air tomorrow on SciFi Friday.

Finally, that blasted long mid-season break is over.

Yeah, I know, Battlestar Galactica is not in the Stargate universe but, so far, I have neglected to make a BSG thread. Guess I need to get to that.

Just thought I would give a heads up for anyone who may need it.

Personally, I am waiting for Stargate to redeem itself in the second half of the season.

The strange thing is that I haven't heard much from the folks across the pond about the upcomong eps that they have seen so I'm not expecting much

Don't know what to say NJ, I did not hate the first half of the season even if I too thought it could have been better. I thought they had a few good shows and the potential is still there, but I did not like the direction they took so far this season.

I have noticed a lot of doom and gloom in our entertainment today. Sadly, bright and cheerful seems to be out of style.

Searching for feel good movies is getting to take longer and longer with “OnDemand” TV but gore and violence is everywhere.

If it is true that entertainment reflects society, as opposed to shaping it, then what does this all say about the world we are living in today?

Personally, I wonder if maybe reflecting the darkness in our culture is giving the darkness positive reinforcement and making the whole situation worse.

Here is hoping for at least a few bright and cheerful, and well written, episodes to come in this second half of the Stargate season.

BACK INDEED!

From the moment I noticed they returned to the full theme song I suspected that TPTB had been listening. Hammond's comment "I'm glad to see you got the Band back together" assured me. SG-1 is back. With the exception of a far too neat ending, the writing is back on target.

Are we going to have individual threads for the episodes?

I agree, things went a little too smoothly overall, but it was still good to see SG-1 again.

As for individual episode threads, that is up to anyone who wants to create them.

I personally will only occasionally start a thread for a specific episode. It pretty much has to be exceptional for me to post about a specific episode but if anyone else does want to give individual episode synopses, or otherwise talk about an episode, I have no problem with that.
