Ok, I STILL don't quite understand the "Bad Wolf" thing.

I think that it was one of those "Time Travel Things" that always gives me a headache.  She was there in the future, and then left herself the message along the way to get her there.  But how did she get there IN the first place the first time WITHOUT the "Bad Wolf" messages throughout the season and travels?  AAGGHHH!  I hate those TimeTravelThings

I really liked this episode, except for a few things.  I  really am hating the scenes back on earth with Rose, Mum and Micky.   All she does is moan at them and then basically tell them they are beneath her each and every time she sees them.   I figured this time they were so keen on helping her leave just so they could get her out of there and away from them.

I'd have done the same thing, i think, only I would have slaped her a good one before she left.

Personally, I'm still hoping that Linda was one of the people that Rose brought back from the dead with Jack.  I'm just going to keep on believing that, so don't bother trying to talk me out of it.

And SPEAKING of Jack!  They just LEFT him there in the future?  They just jumped back in the TARDIS and took off.  Talk about the ultimate diss. So, I'm just thinking that he and Linda will live there happily ever after for a bit.... or until his new series starts

It might take some getting used to to have a new Doctor.  This one is the only one I've known really.  I did have some issues about his darknes and detached personality, but I was getting used to him.  I really did like that he chose "coward over killer."  I guess he wasn't quite as detached as I thought.

I may have a LOOOOOOOONG time before I HAVE to get used to another one.  I haven't read that SciFi picked up season two yet so I guess I will have to wait and see.

That is called a paradox when there is an unexplainable effect from something you have done before you do it. Some paradoxes can be rationalized rather well, but this one cannot.

The only situation I can think of right now that is useful in rationalizing a paradox is when it is a time-loop situation, but this did not seem to be a time-loop situation, thus making it a true paradox... unless we only see the end of the time-loop and not all that happened before it was resolved.

Perhaps in the original timeline Rose didn't figure out the solution for a decade or two... which leaves open the possibility that there is, or was, another, older, Rose around somewhere.

I may comment more on your post later NJ, right now, I need food!

Back in a while.

The episode was really good. I especially liked the regeneration sequence, however in past epi's when the doctor regenerated, his memory was messed up for a bit. Here he seemed to get right back on track.  So that threw me off a bit.

NJ, I hate to say this but I doubt linda is back.  The way she died, she most likely got sucked out into space since the daleks broke the window to the outside. Sad but true, you know that when a window to the outside gets broken things get sucked out into space.............

Now we are in for tons of reruns, and something tells me it's gonna be a long time before we see Doctor #10.

Actually, Rose seemed to have rather omnipotent like power when she had the time vortex energy in her. I would not be surprised if she brought every human that was killed back to life, including Lynda with a y.

Then, when the Doctor took the vortex energy from her, he must have healed Rose, because if that energy can kill a Time Lord who briefly possessed that energy, it surely could kill a human who had a longer exposure to it.

And NJ, I would not worry about Captain Jack too much, he seemed rather capable of tacking care of himself.

Yeah, I gather that he is a survivor, and I know that he gets his own show, so I guess he is happy.

I just "stole" this tidbit from the other board...  I thought that it might add to our discussion here:

"am I correct in assuming that the TARDIS was the Bad Wolf & not Rose?"

Okay THAT didn't dawn on me... and it really should have.  The TARDIS was leaving the messages and not Rose?  That makes a little more sense to me and doesn't give me a TimeTravelThing" headache.

But what do YOU think?

I think that could be one way of looking at it, but more, it would be a TARDIS merged with Rose.

It should give you a headache in spite of who left the “Bad Wolf” messages. In either case, it is a paradox. You have an effect before the cause and it was the effect that leads to the cause, thus, the paradox.

I had heard that Captain Jack would show up again but I did not know he will get his own show. Cool by me anyway.

It's called "Torchwood"  And that is about all I know of it.  I DO hope that SciFi will be showing it, though.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0485301/

According to the note on IMBD  "Torchwood" is an annogram for Doctor Who.  Kinda cool!

I think the Tardis is beyond paradox.

Time travel paradoxes are a product of our linear one way travel through time. The Tardis doesn't actually travel through time, or space. It is everywhere, everywhen, simultaneously.

At least that's my understanding of pan-dimensional time vortexes
