Hey, nice to have you back, Walt... and not just because it has been so slow around here without you.

By the way, didn't you say you wanted anything but a Dell?

I used to diss all name brand computers, and I have heard a lot of others rag on them too. It is true that you can build better quality computers, at least desktops and towers, that what you get from the name brands, but the cost is much higher and there is a lot more work involved in setting and maintaining non-name brand computers.

The advantages of name brands are the price, a few basic programs already set up for that computer, and the ease of wiping the system clean and doing a fresh re-install. Just the time saved on hunting down new drivers is worth it for me these days to go the name brand computer route.

As for which is better between hp/Compaq or Dell, I could not say. The only Dell I have is an older model I have sitting in reserve in case of dire emergency, like for some reason all my main computers go down at once. I can say that the Dell case is the most well designed one I have. It is super easy to pull out and replace parts in that old Dell.

Anyway, nice to see you back no matter what machine brings you here, Walt.

LOL, yes I DID say I wouldn't EVER get a DELL, but my neighbor informed me that Dell has actually changed it's 'way' and recently (last year-ish) changed to TOP notch parts that, along with the price, makes it THE best buy!!!
Now to figure out how to access this camera.. ..
