I LOVE this time of year.  I get to listen to some of my favorite music and not have people at the office laugh at me.  Who CARES if I feel like some Christmas music in April??

I'm always on the look out for Hoilday tunes. My favorites lately have been Manheim Steamroller and Trans-Syberian Orchestra.

Does anyone have any favorites that I should keep an eye out for?

You just named my two favorites. I also have a CD of Celtic Christmas music.
And don't laugh but I also have the Jingle Cats. Not exactly soothing but if you want to wrap presents in peace it works great at clearing a room.

Hey Nancy, if you hadn't heard, Steamroller is performing at the First Union(or whatever they're calling it these days) Center this month.

There's a group called Trans Siberian Orchestra that does great arrangements of traditional songs as well as some original compositions, with little or no synthesizers. They do have other electronic instruments as well as a full orchestra so the music is very powerful.

I heard some great music on CNN yesterday.

The group was billed as "The blind boys from Alabama", I'm not sure if that's a description or an actual group name.

Set to a slow blues rendition of House of the Rising Sun, they were singing Amazing Grace. Try it in your head, it works!

Which Celtic songs do you like best Questmaker ?  Those are some of my favourite types of music.  One cd I have is by two singers called Enaid and Einalem who sing some really relaxing and nice songs.  I also listen to a lot of Enya and Clannad too.
