This makes sense to me too....  After all, if we were descended from apes, how come there are still apes on the planet.  Wouldnt all of them have changed and not just some of them.

I've always wondered about that myself.  The whole thoery behind evolution is "Survival of the fitest." There would have been no reason for man to elvolve if the "original" form is still around and surving nicely.

ooh finally! some thought. I am glad you also think so, My fellow science colleages here think that is crazy... hmmm the world was flat 400 years ago...earth was the center of the universe then also.

i firmly believe the same about that. something odd happened in my opinion. whyis there still monkeys and apes? just does not make sense to me.

" Please dont bring - Intelligent design- into this. I firmly do not believe in that either. at least not in the christian sense or religious sense.

we need to think more out of the "sphere" on this one
After all, we really do not know if they were all reptiles. IF they were, just maybe something changed or maybe they were not all reptiles as believed.

well. anyway, there is much debate on this in recent months. just wondering some opinions even if your not scientific

hmmm, how about there wAs actually NO 'evolution'? Of course, 'Evolution' really just means 'change', so technically, we and ALL living things are countinually in a state of evolution! To be otherwise is to be dead!

So, just how did we get from genealogy, the study of family trees as far back as can be documented, to evolution, the theory about how different species may have evolved over time from one form into another?

Personally, I think too many people are in denial. They do not want to be descended from monkey like creatures so evolution must not exist. Well, just one question for ya all then, why do humans have a tailbone then?

Think about it.

And, about the point that there are still monkeys and chimps around today while we are fully upright and uptight Homo sapiens. Perhaps there was no reason for them to change at the time while we, our band of chimps, got ourselves boxed into a corner and had to find a way out. Just because one group goes nuts and starts standing tall in the grass does not mean that all the primates decided to do the same. Thus, there are still hairy chimps and gorillas in the forested lands today while we all got naked as we wandered about the grasslands and beyond.

By the way, I am making good progress on my genealogy project… which does not extend far enough back to claim a direct link to any chimpanzee ancestors yet, but I am still working on it. I only need about four million or so more years of back-searching to get that far back.

I believe in something else... I am not sure what it is yet but when i discover it you will be the first to find out

I do not believe entirely in evolution, I do NOT believe entirely in intelligent design. I think there are many many aspects not considered or taken into account.

I do believe a little in BOTH. now thats is more in universal thinking.... after all we are all star stuff
